PRESS CREDENTIALS

Press Credentials to cover CRF's Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) Scientific Symposium will be granted to reporters from the following news media:

  • Newspapers, weeklies, and magazines
  • Wire services
  • Broadcast news outlets
  • Trade news outlets: Medical, Science, Pharmaceutical, Cardiology, Device, and Allied Health Care publications
  • Web site news outlets
  • Accredited medical and science freelance writers

Reporters and writers must show credentials to receive a complimentary press badge to attend the meeting. Credentials include:

  • Press card
  • Business card clearly stating affiliation and position with the above-mentioned types of news organizations (i.e., editor, publisher, writer, reporter, producer, etc.); This can be an e-mail card or official e-mail signature
  • A letter on official letterhead from the editor of a publication or web site or producer of a broadcast program certifying the person's affiliation and that the person is covering the meeting for the respective organization
  • National Association of Science Writers, International Association of Science Writers membership card
  • Journalism students will receive credentials by providing a letter on official school letterhead, signed by a department professor

Press credentials will NOT be issued to the following representatives:

  • Advertising sales representatives of publications
  • Spouses and other guests of journalists attending the meeting
  • Advertising, marketing or public relations representatives from exhibitor companies or agencies
  • Representatives of organizations selling or producing publications, video, audio tapes, or Web sites intended for marketing, advertising, and public relations purposes
  • Organizations whose main objective is to promote their products, services, i.e., marketing, advertising, financial analysis or public relations/advertising firms
  • Industry representatives, in-house and industry newsletters, magazines and representatives of corporate or university and hospital public relations/advertising/marketing departments may not register as media

Individuals with complimentary press badges that violate TCT and/or press room policies will immediately forfeit their press credentials to this meeting and subsequent meetings. Violations include:

  • Selling, marketing or representing a company for the purposes of obtaining advertising or subscriptions from any registrant or exhibitor marketing a product or service displayed on the CRF/TCT exhibit floor
  • Misrepresentation to secure press credentials to cover the meeting
  • Product promotion that implies CRF/TCT endorsement; or usage of CRF logo without the express written consent of the Foundation

EMBARGO POLICY

The Cardiovascular Research Foundation embargoes information presented as a Late Breaking Clinical Trial or a Late Breaking Clinical Registry from becoming public until after the presentation. These times are listed in the TCT 2006 Final Program. No exhibitor or university (or affiliated organization or company) may disseminate the information until the official scientific symposium presentation has concluded. Please be advised that any journalist breaking TCT’s embargo policies will have his or her press credentials immediately revoked and will not be granted press credentials for future TCT meetings.

PRESS ROOM ACCESS

All members of the media with a credentialed press badge will have access to the press room during hours of operation.

  • Executives, Researchers, Investigators, and Industry Leaders who are participating in press briefings, scheduled press events, and media interviews will have access to the pressroom during these activities. These leaders can be accompanied by their public relations representatives (limit to ~3) during these activities.
  • Public Relations representatives will not have access to the press room and are prohibited from soliciting media in the press room. They may, however, call upon the press room staff to help them facilitate media requests.

FILMING, VIDEO TAPING and PHOTOGRAPHY

  • Filming, videotaping and photography are permitted in the press room and during press activities
  • Photography and audio taping will be permitted during the symposia and scientific sessions as long as it is not disruptive to the speaker
  • Reporters are required to obtain written approval from TCT 2006 press room managers to film or videotape during the symposia, scientific sessions, posters, and exhibits. If prior written approval is obtained for filming and videotaping, the following rules should be adhered to:
    - Camera crews should be accompanied by a C R F/TCT press official
    - They must only film/photograph what was agreed upon
  • Photographing and filming posters and exhibits is allowed at the discretion of the exhibiting companies Photographers must ask the exhibiting companies and/or investigator for permission prior to taking photographs

EXTERNAL MEDIA ACTIVITIES DURING TCT 2006

Exhibiting companies are prohibited from holding press events in the convention center during the TCT 2006 Scientific Symposium.

Exhibiting companies are asked to hold their off-site press events during dates and times that do not conflict with press activities during TCT 2006. A schedule of media events will be available from the press room manager one month in advance of TCT 2006.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR TCT 2006

Media registration for the Cardiovascular Research Foundation's 18th Annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Scientific Symposium (TCT 2006) opened on June 1, 2006. Credentialing for this meeting will allow media to attend the scientific sessions, poster presentations, and exhibit hall.

Registration can also be carried out onsite at the Media Registration Desk. To obtain a badge, you must show a press card, or evidence of journalistic or freelancer status (NASW, IASE card). A letter from the editor of a publication, specifying your attendance on their behalf, along with a photo ID is also sufficient.
